The B.A. in General Science at East Stroudsburg University offers students a broad, interdisciplinary foundation in the four core scientific disciplines: biology, chemistry, earth and space science, and physics. This flexible program is ideal for students seeking a well-rounded science education or planning to pair their science background with another field of study.

Students can choose from two distinct concentrations:

Designed for maximum flexibility, the General concentration allows students to explore a wide range of scientific topics while incorporating elective courses that align with their personal or professional interests. This pathway is often selected in coordination with a second major or minor in a related area such as health, environmental studies, or education.

This concentration mirrors the General track but includes additional coursework in education to prepare students for careers in teaching. Graduates who meet GPA and testing requirements are eligible for Pennsylvania teacher certification in general science (grades 7–12).

Teachers with this certification are typically qualified to teach grades 7–9 in subjects such as general science, life science, physical science, or earth science.
