Card Swipe Entry
The card swipe is located to the right of the library’s Main Entrance.
To enter the library through the Main Entry Door after 6 p.m., ESU students, faculty, and staff will need to swipe their eCard.
Usage During Operating Hours
Members of the public are welcome to use the building daily from opening to 6 p.m. or closing; whichever time comes earlier. They are welcome to stay after 6 p.m., but re-entry will not be allowed if they leave.
ADA Access
There is an automatic door (ADA Door) located to the left of the library building with a button to be pressed for entry.
Trouble Entering Building
If you have trouble entering the building, please call the Circulation Desk at (570) 422-3126 and a staff person will come to the door to assist you.
Library Closing Procedure
There are three announcements made during closing. The first one is made 30 minutes before closing to let patrons and visitors know that all library materials are to be brought to the circulation desk to be checked back in (returned) and this includes reserves and laptops.
Reminder Announcement
A reminder announcement will be made approximately 5-10 minutes before closing that the library will be closing soon and the lights will blink for anyone wearing headsets or who may have missed the first announcement.
Final Announcement
A final announcement will be made at closing.
The lights will be turned off following the final announcement.
For Safety Purposes
For safety purposes, all patrons must leave the building after the final closing announcement.
