New Quiz Evaluation Experience in D2L!
Starting July 2025, ESU’s Desire2Learn (D2L) online platform will receive an update to its Quiz evaluation view. When faculty grade a quiz through the Quizzes tool, they will see a new layout for reviewing and grading individual student attempts.
This layout should not change the function of the tool or how questions are graded. D2L rearranged the page design to make the quiz evaluation feature easier to use and to match previous updates made to the Discussion and Dropbox evaluation tools.

Past D2L Updates
- D2L created a new Homepage Widget Pack and as of December 2024, retired the old homepage widgets. The new widgets include the following: Visual Table of Contents Widget, Single Profile Widget, Slim Announcements Widget, Photo Banner Widget, Welcome Window Widget, Learner Awards Widget, Content Navigator Widget, Multi-Profile Widget, & Awards Leaderboard Widget. - D2L updated the quiz creation and taking experiences. The enhancements include auto-submission of quizzes, a streamlined setup process, and the removal of outdated timing features such as the grace period. Additionally, the quiz-taking experience now offers options to show or hide the quiz timer and improvements to how quiz results are displayed. D2L also introduced the capability to conduct synchronous quizzes, enabling the quiz timer to start and end at the same time for all learners. These features are accessible under the Timing & Display options in any quiz setup or edit mode.
- D2L also had added the option to add a quiz to the course calendar. When creating or editing a quiz, under the section labeled “Availability Dates & Conditions” there is a check box that, when selected, will add an upcoming quiz to the course calendar.
